I found this spot over a year ago, amongst my normal haunts. It has a wonderful view of Mt. Kearsarge, the highest point in the distance, and the surrounding valley. Last fall, four times I got up at 4:30am to be here for sunrise, near the peak of foliage, hoping for some epic color and maybe some fog if I was lucky. But I got nothing worth printing, and would have to wait until next fall. The next year, I did the same thing again six times, before finally being given this gift:). That’s really what it takes for most of my best images. Sacricifing sleep and a new location (9 times, I could have shot somewhere else), until mother nature grants me this.
